Humber Valley Property: Humber Valley Vacation Property Newfoundland Canada

Western Newfoundland

Newfoundland is a destination which captures the imagination of all who visit. It is Canada’s most easterly province and covers an area of approximately 43,500 square miles (113, 000 sq. km) making it marginally smaller than England. Humber Valley lies amidst the Appalachian mountain range with the resort situated on the North side of Deer Lake at the heart of the spectacular valley. The unspoiled landscape is home to a low density population of 50,000 permanent residents who enjoy a reputation for friendliness and generosity.

Whilst the resort is set amidst pristine forest and accessed only by private bridge, it is ideally situated to enable guests to make the most of what Newfoundland has to offer. Forty minutes away is Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning scenery and wildlife including moose, caribou, black bears and whales. Marble Mountain (www.skimarble.com), which boasts some of the best skiing in eastern Canada, is just minutes away and nearby are hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobiling tracks which snake through the forests and make the vast wilderness of Newfoundland surprisingly accessible. This area is also well known for snowmobiling, the fastest growing sport in North America.

Deer Lake is yet another beautiful natural resource. Humber Valley Resort sits at the foot of the lake where it narrows to form the Lower Humber River. The lake is the base for a variety of water based activities such as sailing, wind surfing, water skiing and jet boating whilst the river provides world class Atlantic salmon fishing. In winter the lake is ideal for skating, snowmobiling and ice fishing.
